You might have read it in our newsletter already but I’d really like to emphasize the fact that you should give your shop a theme if you want to attract a lot of visitors and ultimately make good commission.
There are so many online shops out there… I’m talking about large ones, with brand names you all know and small ones like your ZlioShops. If you want your own shop to get noticed you really need to pick a theme carefully and stick to it. It works better when it’s something you already know about (say cooking, sports or video games) because then you already have specific ideas of which products you’d like to display.
It’s even better if you can be very specific, like a shop dedicated not just to cartoons but to Spiderman or another one dedicated to Spanish cooking… If you feel frustrated about being so specific you could always start another shop about Japanese cooking, another about French pastries…. and so on, remember you can manage up to 10 shop now !
Don’t forget to fill in all the details in your general settings page, especially “tagline” and “description” and eventually “free text”. Use the major keywords to describe your shop (spain, paella, tapas, cooking, recipes etc… in my last example) as many times as you can, as this will help Google and other search engines list you.
It’s up to you now !

The more the shop will be specialized, the less competition it will be. That’s the same for keywords you have to choose to describe your zlioshop. Do a little keyword search (for example with inventory.overture.com) to know how much time your keywords have been searched in the last month. Select your keywords. Middle ranked keywords are probably the best ones, because there is still many people using them in search engines, and no so much competition on these keywords.
Good luck !
