Isn’t it amazing how right after we talking about videos, a video about Zlio just pops up on the Seesmic Du Jour?  Check out super-blogger Loic Le Meur interviewing Ilan Abehassera for Seesmic.com about how Zlio works, where funding comes from, and even some special Zlioshops:

A while back we gave you an intro to adding images to your Zlioshop, so we thought you may be interested in adding video.

We all know that the video network of choice is YouTube, but you can also find free videos through Google Video, Yahoo, MSN, and more. To add a video to your Zlioshop’s homepage, all you need to do is copy the “EMBED” code and place it:

  • In the store description: the image will appear at the top of the page, just above your first line of products. (found under “Store Identity”)
  • In the store freetext: the image will appear at the bottom of the page, just below your last line of products. (also found under “Store Identity”)

See? Easier than adding an image. In fact, it’s so easy that we’ve added this video (that you probably haven’t seen) of Zlio VP of Business Development Ilan Abenhassera being interviewed at the NYC MashMeet:

Long gone is the time of too many open browser windows cluttering your screen! Put your RSS reflex in action and let the information stream its way to you – on only one glorious page. RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts - and is the easiest way to keep up with what you want to know.

Why should I subscribe to an RSS feed? Because all of the cool kids are doing it… No really, by subscribing to an RSS feed (for free) you can have all of the hottest information on your subject of choice delivered directly to your inbox. (For those of you using Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail , you’ll find that both have tools to help you manage your RSS feeds.)

How do I find Zlio’s RSS feed? Look on the right, underneath the Archives, and you’ll see a section titled “Subscribe” with a happy little blue RSS button. (For the bloggers out there: FYI RSS buttons come in lots of colors!) Click the RSS button to subscribe to our feed. Do it. Seriously. The peer pressure is overwhelming.

What about my Zlioshop? On the left, below the categories, your Zlioshop’s RSS can be found where it says “Follow what we’re up to.” For Zlionauts that would really like to step up their game, open a free account with FeedBurner to help spread the word and keep track of your subscribers.

OK, then what? To manage the vast quantities of RSS information that you will surely incur, try a free RSS Reader such as Google Reader  or Mercury Messenger.

Here’s an idea: Wouldn’t it be smart to have your RSS feeds as the start-up page on your web browser?

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with the selection of products when stocking your Zlioshop? Do your eyes get glossy at the sight of pages and pages of choices?

Try browsing our merchants websites through Zlio.com to find products you like first, then search and add them.

Here’s how:

Once you’ve logged in, go to “Manage My Store.” Click on “My Revenues” and then select “Manage Merchants” from the drop down menu (you may remember this page from How To Ban A Merchant).

Now select a merchant you like and click on the corresponding badge on the left. You’ll note that once the merchant’s home page opens, you are still logged into Zlio and can surf through the Zlio Gallery.

Browse products, noting what you like for later searches – and when you want to change merchants, just select one from the list on the top right hand side!

Another approach to browsing may help you discover products that you didn’t even know you needed to have!

olympics

The Beijing Olympic Games for 2008 may not be beginning until August 8, but the ceremony has already begun!

Chinese President Hu Jintao announced the official launch of the Beijing Olympic torch relay on March 31st in Beijing’s Tian’anmen Square – and the journey has begun.

Last night marked the beginning of the Almaty leg of the torch relay, which will be the torch’s first stop on it’s international tour of 135 cities!

Why not get ahead of the games by opening your Olympic-themed Zlioshop today?

Try adding Olympic products like signed photos and game balls from Grandstand Sports Memorabilia, or dedicate your Zlioshop to your favorite Olympic sport. You could even open a Beijing-themed Zlioshop featuring travel guides etc. to help all those travelers going to see the games!

Don’t forget that you are Ambassador #1 when it comes to your Zlioshop!

Did you know: a big insider tip from bloggers and web masters is to sign every single email they write with a “signature” which includes a link to their his or her website. Using email signatures add a bit of personality while at the same time provided extra contact info.

Why not start by adding your Zlioshop link to your email signature? All of your contacts will definitely be curious and therefore more likely to visit your boutique.

Not too sure how to create an email signature? Check out this free html signature generator or this free email signature tutorial to get started!
